The posts about Akita aggression draw a lot of attention on this blog.
I’m glad though that many people post comments about their experiences with Akita’s that convince that these dogs are great pets (or can be after training). You do need to know what you’re dealing with. Don’t buy an Akita in an impulse.
To show that these indeed are great pets once properly trained and raised (and remember.. when you don’t have the energy or time to raise an Akita to be a well trained house pet than please get yourself a gold fish 
).

I just stumbled upon this great YouTube movie that shows an Akita and a Husky playing with two children.
The Akita looks like a giant fluffy dinosaur compared to these kids, but he is o so sweet.
